Art and Photography Show
Once again, we will be offering our art and photo contest, which has become a popular tradition since it began in 1991. We’ve discovered how much talent is out there among our members, and their work is a source of never-ending delight!
We will have a lockable room for safe display of the art and photos. Contestants should set up their own displays, using tabletop easels for photos and other flat items, all of which should be framed or mounted in matboard. You will find a downloadable page of labels at the end of this section that must be attached to your work. If the piece is to be donated to the auction at the conclusion of the contest, please so indicate. Remember that 30% of the price realized must go to the club (of course, we’d love an outright donation!). If the work is not for sale, indicate that on your form.
There will be a ribbon for people’s choice best in each category, as well as our usual ginormous rosette for the biggest vote-getter as Best in Art Show!
Of course, the subject matter must be Deerhounds (but you knew that, right?).
The items must be picked up Saturday night after the banquet. The Art Show committee cannot be responsible for any items left behind.
Artwork can be entered in one category only: Painting, drawing, textiles, photography, sculpture, or mixed-media/craft. Maximum size is 15lbs. in weight or 30″ in longest dimension (except for textiles).
Contact our Art Show chair, Sandy McAllister, at Ardachu5@icloud.com with any questions. She will be at the show early to help you with your submissions.
Get to work! Great art takes time!
