SDCA National Specialty 2022

May 31-June 4 Frankenmuth, Michigan

Welcome

To the Reunion Specialty!

The Clans Gather Again!

Covid robbed us of our 2020 Specialty and made our 2021 Specialty smaller than normal, with Canadian members unable to attend and travel difficult for everyone. The 2021 Committee made a valiant effort and those who made the trip had a good time in spite of curtailed services at the hotel and restrictions in the park.

We are very much looking forward to a normal specialty with robust attendance and to seeing all our friends, both human and canine, once again!

Not just another show Site!

Our Host Hotel

The Bavarian Inn Lodge

The Bavarian Inn Lodge is an iconic part of Frankenmuth, sited on the Cass River, where the stern-wheeled Bavarian Belle riverboat passes on her tours. Family-owned for generations, it occupies the site of the Weiss family’s farm of olden days. Every guest room is named for an original Frankenmuth family, and their photographs and other memorabilia decorate the rooms.

“You can say any foolish thing to a dog, and the dog will give you a look that says, ‘Wow, you’re right! I never would’ve thought of that!’”

~Dave Barry

Something for everyone

Activities for Every Lover of Deerhounds

Your show committee is working hard to provide activities to appeal to as many fanciers of our wonderful breed as possible, from AKC and ASFA coursing, to racing, obedience, junior showmanship, futurity, sweepstakes for both youngsters and veterans, regular conformation, three-generations, braces and teams, or even for those who just love a parade! And there will be plenty of good food and conviviality mixed in! Check our links at the top of the page to see what happens and when.
